Time to Cast off those docklines…

Mexico-WEB

And head south! And we mean south, south, south – to Mexico! Follow our adventures as we take year to sail to Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska as a family.  We will be leaving within the next few weeks, and it has been pretty crazy around here finishing up all the projects so that we can feel ready and safe to travel.   So many emotions right now, but we are super excited!

  1. Wahoo!! So excited for you guys :) You must be leaving soon — hope you’ll blog lots!!

Can’t wait to follow your adventures :)

  2. One more thing – if you haven’t already, try to get a copy of the “Shawn and Chris” cruising guides for Mexico (there are two – one for the Sea of Cortez and one for mainland MX)… They’re hands down the best guides we’ve come across and really fun to go through for dreaming & planning too :)

    • Thanks Leah! Great to have tips from a Veteran :) if you could only pick one- where is your favorite spot in the sea of cortez??

      • Ha! You know that’s like saying, “pick your favourite stop on Vancouver Island” right??

But Isla Partida (just north of La Paz – don’t get stuck in “La Paused” though!) with it’s super crazy awesome sea lion colony (that you can dive/snorkel with), San Juanico (further up Baja) for the anchorage and deserted beaches, and all of Bahia Concepcion (quite a bit further up the inside) for it’s flat calm protected waters and beautiful little nooks.

How far south are you going before you kick off to Hawaii? I’m following your sat phone tracker and it’s pretty awesome to watch. You guys are fast!! :)

  3. I have been keeping an eye out for your vessel when sailing in the Southern Gulf Islands. Looking forward to your posts, videos etc. SV Asunto and her family are so inspiring. Thank you.

    • Thank you for the kind works Katherine! We are now approaching San Francisco Bay, so you won’t find us in our lovely BC waters until 2017!
